They did not have a team any where near the birthplace of pro football. If you don’t put a team in NE Ohio or Western Pennsylvania then it will fail every time.

No company would buy TV advertising and the viewership was low. It got some of the lowest ratings in TV history.

Some of the rules were really lame. For one they talked about no more fair catches and everyone would have to return kicks, but then they would have to give 5 yards of room. Old college football of 15 years they only had to give a person only 2 yards. The players were not nearly as good as NFL players. The XFL just couldn’t live up to the hype it advertised. I remember looking forward to watching the first game and afterwards being so disappointed.
